'Meditations on Now'

This series of paintings is my response to a fascination with the ways people cope with stress and uncertainty. I love the sereneness of Buddhist images with their hope of calm and I do meditate at times with a guided tape or music. These images give me a feeling closer to what I imagine a practised mediator can achieve.

 I started these images really loosely applying colour with an idea of composition, but enjoying not committing or controlling the outcome completely feeling the colours and thinking about the emotions which I want to convey. I then sketch, trace & transfer the figure onto the image exploring where the background can bleed through. I clean up the image with paint and pen, then love to dive back in with more paint and a variety of tools risking loosing the image altogether.

Giclee prints are available on specialist fine art paper. 

Your print will arrive in a white mount 21 x 30 cm, with a window 11.5 x 16.5 cm.

Prints are signed on the back & on the mount and carefully wrapped in cellophane.

*Prints with gold are hand embellished with gold paint.
